Small preview of what this sports car has to offer, let me sum it up with a few numbers and words: 500 horsepower and 5.4-liter supercharged V-8. Did that got your attention? It should have, for someone who likes sports cars with brute strength, those numbers will get them at the edge of their seats. What can I say, this muscle car´s power is classic Shelby. The 5.4-liter, 32-valve V-8 engine has been the result of Ford´s years of tinkering with modular engines. The results are nothing less but remarkable.

Ford Shelby GT500 2011

Ford Shelby GT500 2011
The 5.4-liter, 32-valve V-8 engine is nice to read and surely nice to be heard, but how does it perform? Ford made sure that a mixture of air and fuel will be forced-fed into the engine via a "Roots-type" supercharger producing, are you ready for this, 8.5 pounds per square inch of boost. Imagine how the sudden power will affect your speed.

Ford Shelby GT500 2011

Ford Shelby GT500 2011
When you look at the interior of the new GT500 racing car, chances are you will be a little surprised. Leather everywhere, that´s what you will see. You will find that the Mustang´s molded-plastic surfaces is covered by uninterrupted layer of stitched black hide. The trimmings found in the door panels are covered by leather as well. So is the steering wheel, the shifter, the parking-brake handle, the dash top, and even the console are covered by no less the genuine hide. The seat center panels themselves are made from red perforated leather, what else would you want? But strikingly different in the new GT500 is the usage of matte-aluminum finish on the shift knob, steering-wheel spokes, instrument rings, and vent registers. In the cars of yore, these parts were made of shiny bright metal decor.
These are considerable upgrades which makes the already legend GT500 sports car more infamous. Base price of the 2007 Ford Shelby GT500 has been pegged at more than $40,930.

  • All-new C-car unveiled at 11.00 on Ford stand
  • Production ready, two-model C-MAX range debuts
  • Ford Kuga combines more performance with reduced CO2 emissions
  • Ford Mondeo gains new high-efficiency powertrains
BRENTWOOD, Essex, 18 February, 2010 –Ford's all-new C-car makes its European debut at next month's Geneva show, alongside final versions of
C-MAX and Grand C-MAX which go on sale this year.  There are also further product enhancements for the Ford Kuga and Mondeo and more options revealed for the new S-MAX and Galaxy.
All-new Ford C-MAX range
The all-new Ford C-MAX family provides two of the star attractions presented by Ford Motor Company at the 2010 Geneva International Motor Show.   The C-MAX family brings new levels of style and desirability to the compact Multi-Activity Vehicle (MAV) market.
Ford's C-segment MAV customers now have the choice of a new five-seat C-MAX or a distinctive new seven-seat Grand C-MAX, which features twin sliding doors and innovative seat design to provide outstanding space and flexibility.  At Geneva, the interior of the five-seat C-MAX is revealed for the first time.  It features a coupe-like, sweeping roofline which falls off to the rear, but without compromising the comfort and practicality of the vehicle.   The seven-seat model features a higher roofline and thinner pillars which emphasise the generous room and visibility on offer within the cabin.
The all-new C-MAX cockpit will represent the next generation of Ford's human machine interface (HMI) system.   The key elements of this technology are two five-way toggle switches on the steering wheel, which control two main vehicle displays: one in the instrument cluster and the second mounted in a high position in the centre console.   This simple, intuitive control system enables the driver to operate the key vehicle features while keeping both hands on the wheel, and with a minimum of distraction.
Fuel-efficient, low-CO2 powertrains for the C-MAX range include the new 1.6-litre Ford EcoBoost petrol engine and updated 1.6- and 2.0-litre Duratorq TDCi diesel engines.
"The launch of the new C-MAX range is highly significant, and shows customers worldwide that they can expect some truly exciting designs as we roll out our new global range of medium cars," said John Fleming.  "The new C-MAX is just the start – with the next-generation Focus coming quickly after, we look forward to revealing more of the story in the very near future."
All-new Ford Kuga powertrain and transmission enhancements
The stylish Ford Kuga crossover strengthens its reputation as the leading vehicle in its class with exciting new powertrain and transmission options designed to boost performance and improve fuel economy and CO2 performance.
The updated Kuga now offers a powerful new 163PS version of the 2.0-litre Ford Duratorq TDCi diesel engine achieving a CO2 output of just 159g/km in the All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) models with manual transmission (six per cent reduction compared to the previous 136PS engine).   The new efficiency advantages delivered by the Ford Powershift gearbox lower CO2 emissions for the 140 and 163PS AWD diesel automatics to a class-leading 179g/km.
With 20 per cent more peak power, the new 163PS engine improves the performance of the Kuga, increasing the top speed from 112 to 121mph and cutting the 0-62mph time from 10.7 to 9.6sec, as well as meeting the latest European Stage V emissions standards.
All-new Ford Mondeo powertrain and transmission enhancements
The versatile Ford Mondeo now benefits from improved fuel economy and lower emissions combined with stronger performance thanks to new high efficiency Ford EcoBoost petrol-injection turbo and upgraded Ford Duratorq TDCi diesel engines.
The Mondeo gains the all-new, high efficiency, turbocharged, 203PS 2.0-litre Ford EcoBoost SCTi petrol engine and significantly improved Stage V, 2.0-litre Duratorq TDCi diesels with 115PS and 140PS power outputs, plus an impressive new 163PS version.
In addition, the smooth and effortless Ford Powershift six-speed twin-clutch automatic transmission system comes to the Mondeo range, fitted as standard with the 2.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine and optionally available for the 140PS and 163PS Duratorq TDCi diesel engines.
The newly introduced 2.0-litre 163PS Ford Duratorq TDCi allows the Mondeo to achieve impressive fuel economy with a combined fuel consumption as low as 53.2 mpg*, as well as complying with stage V emissions regulations.  Together with the new Ford Powershift, the Mondeo delivers a combined fuel economy of just 50.4 mpg.
*Note: Fuel economy figures quoted are based on the European Fuel Economy Directive
EU 80/1268/EEC and will differ from fuel economy drive cycle results in other regions of the world.

2011 Ford Mustang GT

2009 was not a banner sales year for the Ford Mustang. Despite a complete makeover for the 2010 model year, sales of the usually successful pony car topped off at 66,623, an all time low. The Mustang still managed to beat out the Camaro in total sales for the year, but Ford sold fewer Mustangs for each month that the Camaro was actually on showroom floors.

Enter the 2011 Mustang. Apparently, a 305-horsepower V6 that gets 30 mpg and a 5.0-liter V8 putting out 412 horsepower does wonders for sales. Ford is reporting that three times more 2011 Mustangs have been ordered than 2010 models at this same time last year. In total, 11,000 Mustangs have been ordered since January.

Customers have been particularly taken with the V6 model, which makes up half of all the orders, and the California Special has also fared better than expected, tripling Ford's initial sales projections. Ford says that 41-percent of 2011 Mustang orders have been for the GT model, who will surely enjoy rollin'... in their five-point-ohs, and the remaining nine percent have been for GT500s. Hit the jump for the full press release from Ford.

ford mustang 4 door sedan
Ford Mustang 4

At the 2007 Detroit Auto Show, Ford will unveil a four-door, rear-wheel-drive concept car. The concept, known as "The Interceptor", is based on the Mustang’s rear-wheel-drive architecture and will be a preview of the Ford Mustang sedan that will go on sale starting 2011.
We know that Ford denied that a Mustang Sedan version will ever be made, but if the Concept that will be presented in Detroit will use the Mustang’s RWD architecture the car will see the production for sure. First because the Mustang’s platform will keep the price acceptable and secondly because we believe Ford really needs this model in its line-up; for example Dodge and Chrysler have models on 4-dour market that sells very well and until now Ford does not have any competition on this segment of 4-door sport. So if they want to compete on this segment of the market a Mustang Sedan is a must. Although we are not sure if the model will go on sale under the "Mustang" name, but it will go on sale as a competitor for Chrysler 300C SRT8 and Dodge Charger RT.

Ford Mustang 4
The model will have a modern shape with the design insipred by the Giugiaro Mustang Concept that was presented at Los Angeles Auto Show. So it is very posible that the Mustang sedan to have the same dimenssions as the Giugiaro: 30 millimeters added to the front, gradually expanding the width by a full 80 millimeters toward the rear. The detailed look will have a clear modernization: the retro-look dominating so far is taken clearly back and the futuristic Design yields.
The new model will be powered by a range of V6 and V8 engines. Standard will be the same 4.0 liter V6 engine that powers Mustang Coupe delivering arround 200 hp. Another option will be powered by a 4.6 liter V8 engine with an output of 280 hp. Also a more powerful version is also expected, with an output arround 400 hp.
Ford will also try to increase the gas mileage in its entire line-up. It will implement a displacement on demand system, (similar to that which GM is currently running), in which 4 cylinders shut-off for highway cruising, and all eight are activated when the throttle is pressed.

Ford Mustang 4
The chassis will remain the same for the Mustang Sedan, similar to how the 1994-1998 models shared the same core chassis as the 1999-2006s, yet they still managed to look a good amount different. Also the sedan will have the same five speed manual and five speed automatic transmission as the current Coupe.
The 2011 Mustang Sedan will attempt to incorporate a futuristic look and still maintaining the classic Mustang look.

On Monday, we brought you rumors about the 2012 Ford Mondeo four-door coupe, which will purportedly rival the Volkswagen CC and other similar vehicles. So, what would this CLS-inspired Ford look like? Have a look at our artist’s speculative illustration for a pretty good idea of what to expect.

The regular sedan is due for a mild facelift in 2010, but the newest reports from the U.K. indicate the completely revamped 2012 Mondeo will be available in a four-door coupe body style in addition to more traditional formats.
Unique features to the new body style are expected to include frameless side windows, vertical air vents behind the front wheels, finned C-pillars, clear tail lights, four individually adjustable seats as well as a new black panel MMI touchscreen interface.

Feature-wise, the higher price of entry will include goodies such as active steering working with a lane departure system, adaptive cruise control that can recognize speed limits and a stop-and-go mode meant to reduce idling and emissions. A keyless entry system is said to recognize the driver and adjust cockpit interfaces accordingly, a parking assist system and optional engines with AdBlue diesel technology or a mild hybrid version that uses a starter-generator, brake regeneration and buffer battery.
Ford’s European kinetic design theme will remain on the 2012 model, but the all-new Mondeo will feature a sleek roofline, a trapezoidal grille, drawn-back front headlights and a short decklid.

The next-generation Mondeo will still ride on its current platform, but alterations will be made to the car’s track, length and wheelbase.
The 2012 Mondeo range could even grow to include a two-door coupe (perhaps marking the return of the Capri badge) and a crossover.
There are currently no plans to bring the next Mondeo to the U.S., but Ford has already announced that three European models will be making the trek across the Atlantic, so it still remains a possibility. Here’s hoping.

FPV had no intention of letting HSV get all of the attention and fielded two notable new models. The GT Cobra was tucked away in the background a little (we’ll show you that soon) and sitting in front of it was the new FPV F6X. We’ll bring you full details of FPV’s new Territory based performance SUV soon but for now rest assured that it packs a reasonable punch.

FPV F6X
The F6X features a tuned version of Ford’s inline 4.0-litre turbo engine producing 270kW and 550Nm. A little bit of a let-down to be honest, the F6X may have what it takes in dynamic ability but it looks a bit lame. If FPV want to field a performance SUV it needs to look as serious as BMW’s X5 and Porsche’s Cayenne. Maybe it was the wheels...or the plain white paint.
Check out the FPV F6X gallery below.

FPV Cobra 2010

FPV Cobra GT 2007
FPV Cobra 2010
The iconic Cobra name has returned to Australian motoring, with Ford Vehicles (FPV) today unveiling its new special edition GT Cobra and Cobra Ute.

FPV's new Cobra range was revealed during a parade lap of Mount Panorama prior to the start of the 2007 Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000.

Thirty years ago the Ford Falcon XC Hardtop staged the now famous 1-2 victory formation at the 1977 Bathurst 1000 race, which led to the release of the limited edition Cobra XC Hardtop the following year.

FPV Cobra GT 2007
FPV Cobra 2010
"The Cobra name invokes passion among motoring enthusiasts, and now 30 years after the famous 1-2 win at Bathurst, the new FPV GT Cobra offers the exclusivity of Cobra ownership to a new generation of car owners," said FPV General Manager Rod Barrett.

"The new FPV GT Cobra combines the original XC Cobra's bold styling with the latest in FPV engineering and total performance."

"While the vehicle's exterior features the same blue racing stripes and coiled snake emblem that Cobra is famous for, the vehicle will be powered by FPV's latest high performance Boss 5.4-litre quad-cam 32 valve V8 engine, which now produces 302kW."

FPV Cobra Ute 2007
FPV Cobra 2010
The new Boss 302 engine powering both the sedan and Ute variants produces 302 kW of power and 540 Nm of torque, and is equipped with FPV stainless steel fabricated exhaust manifolds and a high-flow dual exhaust system.

For motoring buffs, 302 was the capacity in cubic inches of Ford's small-block V8 engine and is also exactly double the 151 kW output of the 1978 Cobra's 4.9-litre V8 engine.

The GT Cobra has a limited slip differential and is available with either a close ratio six-speed manual transmission with a high torque clutch or the ZF six-speed automatic transmission with Sequential Sports Shift.

FPV Cobra Ute 2007
FPV Cobra 2010
FPV's innovative R Spec handling package is fitted as standard to the GT Cobra, contributing to the outstanding chassis dynamics of the special edition model
The white exterior features blue striping across the bonnet, roof and rear deck lid, and is completed by the unique Cobra badge on each front fender and the rear deck lid. The GT Cobra will also include exclusive R Spec badging.

Both variants are fitted with leather seats as standard, with each seat carrying the coiled Cobra snake logo.

The Cobra's Dunlop SP Sport Maxx 245/35ZR tyres are fitted to special 19-inch five-spoke alloy wheels with white accents and a machined face finish.

Production will be limited to 400 sedans and 100 Utes, and each vehicle will come with a unique Cobra build badge identity.

The GT Cobra sedan will have a recommended retail price of AUD$65,110*, while the Cobra Ute will be priced at AUD$61,200*.

Boss 302
FPV Programs Manager Paul Cook said the objective of the revised Boss engine specification was to increase the peak power and torque in the mid to upper engine speed range, without affecting vehicle exhaust emissions and urban fuel economy.

"Several changes have resulted in the increased performance, including improvements to the volumetric efficiency of the engine above 3750 rpm," said Cook.

"This has been achieved by a new inlet and exhaust camshaft profile to increase inlet valve lift and duration, with changes to the valve and valve spring to accommodate the increased valve lift.

The compression ratio has been increased from 10.5:1 to 10.8:1, which has improved combustion efficiency through the scavenging of combustion gas.

The engine calibration has been extensively revised to optimise the engine operating conditions with the new components, while improvements have also been made to improve accelerator response.

The FPV GT Cobra has been optimised to run on 98 RON premium unleaded petrol.

Ford Fusion is a name used on two different models of cars from the Ford Motor Company.

* Ford Fusion (Europe)
* Ford Fusion (Americas) / Ford Fusion Hybrid

Additionally, Ford used the name before the launch of the European Ford Focus, in communications with contractors working on elements of that model's launch publicity. (Ford did not reveal whether the late change to "Focus" had been the result of a genuine change in its plans, or simply a desire to conceal the real name from the press until the company was ready for the launch.)

The North American Fusion also encountered naming problems. In this case, its original name was Futura, first used on the 1955 Lincoln Futura, later made famous as the '60s Batmobile, and later a model designation used for a version of the 1960s Falcon, and Australian Ford Falcon Futura models from 1964 through to 2008, and last used in the US on a two door version of the Ford Fairmont, and others. Since the name had been shelved for too long, and meanwhile a tire distributor (Pep Boys) had used it, a court challenge by Pep Boys was decided against Ford. Hence the two different versions of the Fusion exist.
