Ford Tourneo Connect 2011
GENEVA, SWITZERLAND -
Ford says the Tourneo Connect BEV is ideal for a city environment and it has a top speed of 112 km/h (70 mph) with a range of 160 km (100 miles) on a single charge. This new Ford car is suitable for both families and commercial applications and has been designed in collaboration with Smith Electric Vehicles, a division of the Tanfield Group. Buyers will be able to recharge their Tourneo Connect in 6-8 hours off a standard household outlet.
Ford of Europe's Chairman and CEO, John Fleming, says the Ford Tourneo Connect BEV will appeal to families and businesses that look to using electric vehicles for reduced operating costs, achieving tax incentives, and having a zero emissions business strategy. The Ford Tourneo Connect BEV electric car will go on sale in the United States with an expected release date of early 2010, and Ford will ramp up production to meet the expected demand from the growing number of 'green' companies in the U.S.

The Focus C-MAX was launched in 2003 to much acclaim. It gave rise to the larger S-MAX, a vehicle that has in turn influenced the new C-MAX.
With the advent of the new C-MAX, Ford decided to drop the ‘Focus’ name and make the car and the S-MAX a separate group of Multi Activity Vehicles or MAVs, at the same time taking the opportunity to give them a similar look.
The new C-MAX has a completely new front end in keeping with Ford of Europe’s ‘kinetic design’ philosophy, in simple terms that means that it should look as if it is moving even when it isn’t. I can’t think of any car that achieves that goal but the new C-MAX certainly has a more dynamic appearance than before.

Ford’s 2010 Fusion and Fusion Hybrid are both continuing there momentum in 2010 with sales of both models bringing in a total of 60 percent of new buyers to the brand, up 54 percent from January and 49 percent from 2009. Ford Fusion Hybrid sales to new buyers increased to 82 percent last month from 70 percent in January and 63 percent in 2009.
Ford pointed out that the Fusion competes in a segment long dominated by some of the best-selling cars in the market, including Honda Accord, Toyota Camry and Nissan Altima.
